Today in class I leant about the different types of operating systems that are used on most phones.
The phone OS’s that are used are IOS, Android OS, Symbian, windows and blackberry. Every single phone os apart from Symbian, are used in smart phones and have loads of applications available to them. Some OS’s are proprietary, meaning that developers are only allowed to create software for that specific device whereas open source OS’s allow developers to make software for a number of different phone models and are usually free.
I also learnt that some phones are doing better than others in the market however some, like the windows phone, has only been released recently so the data on the website stat counter is so miniscule that it counts on the graph as ‘other’.
